Why We Give

Tithing is not giving.
Tithing is giving back the first 10% to the Lord what is rightfully his.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Psalm 24:1

We receive the blessing of the tither and the giver.
We give to God because He assures us that if we will trust Him with the first 10% (tithe) of our income, He will bless the rest and meet our financial needs.
“’Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it!’” Malachi 3:10

It’s not just an old testament principle.
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
